Turbo Colored 3D ART

Chicks dig Color - so Feather your nest with Gidge 3D

If you want to attract a MATE
you NEED  Feathers.

The feather trick - we often bring feathers just like the ones above to art shows. When the viewer let's the feather drop onto the painting, it appears to be floating in a haze of colored water with the water rising above and around it.

Why are male birds more colorful than female birds?

In order to attract a female, males birds either fight better or have more colorful plumage. Darwin said that the color difference  between sexes in birds (also known as sexual dichromatism) result largely from female preference for bright colors in males. Colors can also aid individuals in recognizing members of their own family, whose good to eat or a warning. Color is also used in contests between males over mates or resources such as territory.  Brilliant neon colors (like Gidge 3D paintings)  can help show that an area is already occupied and that the occupant is in good condition and prepared to fight.

The chicks check out your colors and can tell if you are healthy of not.   Extensive field studies have shown that artificially brightened males were much preferred by females and that naturally brighter males were better at providing food to the female and her chicks  Their colors are therefore a clever compromise between camouflage and showiness. The females, however, are under less predation pressure, and their red and blue appears as a long range signal to other females that they have chosen their champion.
